Learner Safeguarding Policy

Our commitment

Kenya School of Languages is committed to protecting the safety, dignity and wellbeing of every learner in our care, whether in physical classes at our Nairobi CBD branch or in online sessions. This applies equally to adult learners, young learners and any learner in a vulnerable situation.

Safe conduct

Staff and trainers are expected to behave professionally and respectfully at all times, to maintain appropriate boundaries with learners, and to deliver lessons in monitored, appropriate settings.

Young learners

Where a learner is under 18, we require a parent or guardian’s contact details as part of admissions, and expect a parent or guardian to be reasonably reachable for communication about the learner’s classes, attendance and progress.

Online safety

Online classes are conducted through professional, appropriate platforms. Learners and parents/guardians of young learners are encouraged to raise any concern about an online session immediately with Admissions.

Raising a concern

Any learner, parent, guardian or staff member who has a safeguarding concern should contact Admissions directly by phone, WhatsApp or email as soon as possible. Concerns are treated seriously and confidentially, and escalated internally without delay.
